The University of Regina and CUPE 1975-01 met on March 2, 2010 to commence bargaining. The University discussed their broad objectives for this round of bargaining and CUPE 1975-01 provided their proposal. The parties spent some time on housekeeping changes and agreed to some protocol and communication approaches. The next round of bargaining is scheduled for March 9, 2010.

We had a very productive meeting today with a turn out of just over 200 members casting their votes.  Thank you to everyone that was able to attend and ask questions and to those of you that voted.  The Negotiating Committee appreciates your time and we will do our best to represent your interests.  We will strive to keep the membership up to date as much as possible through out the bargaining process.

To the members of CUPE 1975-01:

Your Negotiating Committee has had initial meetings with the University of Regina to discuss the plan for Essential Services as per the Government legislation. We will be meeting with the University again on February 11, 2010 to discuss the proposal further.

A special meeting for the members to vote on the proposal package will be scheduled shortly as we have set up tentative dates to begin the bargaining process for February 26 and March 2.
